STUDIO VIDEO PRODUCTION – HOME CITY ICE

Home City Ice hired Valere Event and Video Productions to create content celebrating their 100th anniversary as a family-owned business. A recent studio video production highlighted Valere’s capabilities and emphasized the strength of our studio space.

TWO SETUPS IN ONE ROOM

Several Home City Ice employees were interviewed at the studio. This content will be used in a video dedicated to celebrating the company’s past while also looking toward the future.

To allow for visual flexibility in post production, we put together two setups and utilized both at the same time. At one end of the room, we illuminated the wall with four Nanlite tube lights. On the other, we put up a green screen.

GREEN SCREEN INTERVIEWS

The key to setting up a green screen correctly is the lighting. It is important for the background to be lit evenly so that editing software can properly remove the green color.

A total of five lights were used for our setup. Two Forza 200 lights were pointed at the screen itself. A Godox panel light served as the key light for the interview subjects. A smaller panel light was used for fill. Finally, a Forza 60B sat on top of a wall behind the screen, serving as a back light to separate the subjects from the background.

INTERVIEWS IN FRONT OF A COLORED BACKGROUND

Most of our interview subjects spoke in front of our studio walls. The tube lights placed along the ground were colored blue to match Home City Ice’s logo, while a custom gobo was used to project the “100 Years, One Family” logo in white. Interviewees were lit with a single Forza 200 pointed down at them. This light was diffused with a Godox softbox.

Our cameras recorded each interview in 4k resolution while audio was recorded through boom mics placed above the subjects’ heads.
