FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY FOR CINCINNATI RESTAURANT – VALERE EVENT AND VIDEO PRODUCTIONS
The W Bar + Bistro tasked Valere Event and Video Productions with food photography for their website. We brought two cameras to photograph and film items that were to be placed on the restaurant’s new menu. These images would be used as valuable marketing materials for W Bar’s website.
SETTING THE SCENE
Three lights were used to set up our scene. First, a light covered with a soft box was hung directly above the table where the food was to be placed. This was our key light.
We raised another light high and set it off to the side, using it as a back light to illuminate the wall behind the table. Our final light was pointed at the ceiling, which served as our fill.
RAPID-FIRE PHOTOS
As soon as we finished our setup, the kitchen started bringing out food. When photos of one dish were done, a new plate immediately took its place.
Our staff is adept in working quickly on set. We pay close attention to the needs of our clients, making sure that we bring external monitors so that they can see what we see through our cameras.
External monitors were invaluable during the W Bar photoshoot. The owners could see the photos and offer feedback. This feedback is important, as it allows us to be quick while also making adjustments on the fly when necessary.
We were able to finish our setup and take hundreds of fantastic photos in just a few hours.

Our team was brought on with a quick turnaround in mind. W Bar needed the photos to be taken and published on their website the very next day. We had our pictures edited and uploaded before 10 AM the following morning.
