Commercial Production Companies in Cincinnati | Valere Studios Video Production
A commercial production company will oversee the project from start to finish. At Valere Studios these duties may include any or all of the following. They all have equal importance as vital aspects of any production.
Pre-production.
In the pre-production phase there are scripts being finalized, talent searches, location scouting, crew contracts, AV engineering, lighting design, scenic and set design.
Location / Studio:
Depending on the creative vision of the directors or producers we may be scouting a location for the commercial shoot, or produce the content inside our cutting edge broadcast studio.
Set Design / Scenic:
This part of the process is budget sensitive, but may be as simple as pipe and drape, or stretch fabrics or can be more elaborate with flats, props, furniture, or custom design build. Luckily our studio has a wide range of scenic options to choose from that make this process simple.
Lighting design:
Typically a director or producer has a vision for what the scene will look like. Our team works closely with all parties to ensure the on-screen talent looks their best. We may deploy several lighting techniques in order to get the right shot. A combination of fixtures, modifiers, and diffusion is on-hand and in-stock. For the more creative, we also have a stock of RGB fixtures to aid with a more branded look on set.
Sound Mixing / Engineering:
In addition to superb imaging, a sound engineer or mixer is a vital part of any production. The images are useless if an audio taping is not executed properly. The sound engineer has a very important role on set. Timecode is a big part of the mix ensuring all cameras and sound match up in post production. Also overseeing all the sound equipment to make sure everything is working properly. A flawless execution is a must.
Video Engineering:
In a studio setting or on-location shoot there are a lot of moving parts. Typically a director will have specifications on the video format, aspect ratio, and frame rate. Our team will dial all these details into all the cameras, switchers, and recorders to ensure the final product meets the specifications. In addition to the cameras and recording equipment, there will also be hundreds of feet of cables, converters, monitors, encoders, and peripherals to deliver the signal to the desired destination(s).
Talent Acquisition:
Sourcing on-camera talent starts with the vision and scope of the project. How do you want the intended audience to feel or react to the content being presented? Typically talent agencies have a roster to review with age, hair, eye color, and ethnicity. There will also be samples of their work, headshots, and other details. Sometimes in corporate video the talent is the C-suite, executive, or marketing person. Choosing the right person to be on-camera to represent the subject matter, brand, or product is a crucial part of any video or live event.
Hair and Makeup / Wardrobe:
Looking your best on camera is important. A hair and makeup technician should be considered on any scale project. In most cases they are the last person to interact with the subject before they appear on camera. So in addition to improving appearances, they can also help calm the nerves before performing on set.
